How to choose a remodeling contractor in Sarasota

Verify the license on the Florida DBPR site. Ours is CGC1531404. If a company will not give you a number you can search, stop.
Ask to see joints, not just rooms. Thresholds, millwork reveals, shower assemblies, hardware. Pretty wide shots are easy. Details are the work. We publish them because that is what you should inspect.
Ask who runs the job, and what happens if that person changes. Ask for a sample weekly update. Ask how changes are priced. Ask whether the company still exists after the punch list — in our case, Estate Management is the sister company for that.
The lowest number from a contractor who cannot staff the job is the most expensive number you will pay.
Next step
Request a private Project Review.
Tell us about the property and the work. We will tell you whether we are the right contractor — and what the first honest next step is.
