How long a whole-home remodel takes on the Gulf Coast

Whole-home work is often many months, sometimes more than a year. Anyone who gives you a move-in date at the first meeting is selling certainty they do not have.
The calendar is selections plus lead times plus permitting plus construction plus the fact that you may be living in the house. Millwork and stone do not appear because you are ready. Occupied-home phasing adds weeks that a vacant house would not need.
On the keys, access and HOAs add more. In a tower, the freight elevator is a character in the schedule. We write the logic before we write a date.
Ask your contractor what happens when a selection is late, a hidden condition appears, or an inspection fails. If the answer is a shrug, you do not have a schedule. You have a hope.
